In this highly visible role, you will be at the center of designing and assessing new features for Apple CPUs which lead the industry in performance and efficiency. This work involves collaboration across disciplines, with a critical impact on getting functional products to millions of customers quickly. Architect cutting edge CPU performance features in collaboration with RTL and implementation teams Identify and devise solutions for hardware and software performance bottlenecks Develop advanced CPU performance simulator and associated infrastructure Develop new performance exploration and correlation tools and processes Collaborate with software and system teams to identify, profile, and optimize critical workloads for CPU performance and power Correlate performance of RTL with CPU performance simulator Capture key workloads for simulation on CPU performance model

Required Qualifications
- Minimum BS and 10+ years of relevant industry experience (experience, 10 years)
- Experience in CPU performance architecture, performance modeling, micro-architecture design, performance analysis (experience)
- Experience with C and C++ and at least one of the following scripting languages: Perl or Python (experience)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science or Engineering in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science (degree in of science or engineering in electrical engineering)
- Knowledge and experience with common performance benchmarks and workloads (experience)
- Knowledge of OS internals and compiler technology is a plus (experience)
- Ability to problem solve and prove your own ideas (experience)
Responsibilities
