Electrical Engineer - Display Core Technology

full-timePosted: Apr 29, 2025

Job Description

Apple is where individual imaginations gather together, committing to the values that lead to great work. Every new product we build, service we create, or Apple Store experience we deliver is the result of us making each other’s ideas stronger. That happens because every one of us shares a belief that we can make something wonderful and share it with the world, changing lives for the better. It’s the diversity of our people and their thinking that inspires the innovation that runs through everything we do. When we bring everybody in, we can do the best work of our lives. Here, you’ll do more than join something — you’ll add something. We are looking for an engineer who can architect the next generation display technology for Apple products. In this unique position, you will have first-hand access to novel display technologies, and will be responsible for characterizing and optimizing electro-optical performance, and pushing the limits of panel technology, designing compensation algorithms, prototyping the target performance in simulations and demos, and supporting product development to mass production. - Perform detailed engineering analysis on new display technologies through modeling and measurement. - Collaborate with X-functional teams to define the front-of-screen performance target and test criteria based on vision perception. - Translate front-of-screen performance target into sub-architectures for panel and compensation algorithms in HW/SW. - Perform pixel driving timing and voltage sensitivity analysis to optimize the front-of-screen performance prior to the build. - Design and prototype compensation algorithm, identify sensitivity to PVT to define the scope of dimensions to consider. - Design behavioral model of the compensation algorithm and perform Pre-silicon and Post-silicon validation. - Design calibration flow for the compensation algorithm, including equipment and test vectors, and collaborate with X-functional teams to identify the best location to put it in the factory. - Must have deep domain expertise in at least one of the following domains - display panel, mixed-signal circuit design, array-based circuits (ex, image sensor, imager, memory), characterization automation/scripting.
