Job Description

When this team introduced the App Store, it launched a cultural and economic phenomenon that changed the way people live, work, and play. These engineers and dedicated Program Managers continue to innovate the platform, now home to over 1.5 million apps — each created using the team’s own software development kit and related services. All those apps mean the store takes billions of requests from more than 500 million visitors every week, across iOS, macOS, tvOS, iPadOS, and watchOS. To deliver such a rich experience at this scale, Program Managers partner with the engineers to build high-performance systems backed up by robust testing. In a world where apps have become essential in people’s daily lives, the App Store team has become essential to Apple’s business. We are seeking an innovative Engineering Program Manager, for the App Store Developer Experience team. You will influence and lead the delivery of business critical features built for the App Store. You will collaborate with Engineering, Design, QA, Legal, Privacy, Trust & Safety, Operations, Marketing, and other organizations to manage pipelines to support new App Store features. You will drive and ship all aspects of large, cross-functional projects including features designed to support the Apple Developer community. You will lead all aspects of multiple concurrent projects and features including scope, requirements, timelines, resource allocation tracking, stakeholder management, communications, and risk assessments. You will define business, functional, and reporting requirements, often writing them yourself. Your role will be critical to improving how App Store features are built and executed. • Lead and influence the delivery of business-critical features built and executed on the App Store, working under tight timelines, and with limited details and directions • Drive and oversee all aspects of multiple concurrent projects and features, including scope, requirements, timelines, resource allocation, and reporting • Define the business and functional requirements for the features and the systems that will support these projects • This role requires not only project management but also basic data modeling, state machine design, and an understanding of the technical and human interaction aspects of tooling • Own the overall cross-functional schedules that may affect multiple engineering teams, including client, server, tools, reporting, and others • A technical background is extremely helpful
