Required Qualifications
- PhD degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related discipline (degree in materials science)
- Experienced in using chemistry analysis tools such as SEM, FIB, FTIR, TEM, etc. (experience)
- Fluent in English with strong communication skills, including the ability to seek direction, listen to feedback, and convey complex findings concisely and understandably (experience)
Preferred Qualifications
- Specific failure analysis expertise or industry experience in any of the following fields: consumer devices, batteries, metals, displays, cameras, or sensors (experience)
- Adaptability to a fast-paced environment and shifting work scopes to meet business needs, with a strong aptitude for learning new techniques (experience)
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple high-priority tasks simultaneously (experience)
- Willingness to collaborate closely across different organizations (experience)
- Software coding experience in AL/ML (experience)
Responsibilities
- In this role, you will work in a lab environment, leveraging your engineering and scientific expertise, alongside cutting-edge equipment, to identify the root causes of failures in Apple products. You will also be responsible for recommending corrective actions and presenting your findings to global teams and executives.
- Understand the failure background and design creative investigation plans
- Conduct investigations, including but not limited to operating a variety of advanced material and chemistry analysis tools
- Report findings and actively participate in discussions and debates with colleagues to determine next steps, conclusions, and corrective actions
- Present data in global meetings and executive reviews
