Required Qualifications

• Student of Master degree in Communication Engineering /Information Engineering/EE/CS or related areas. (degree in communication engineering)
• Available to join internship for 6-12 months full-time. (experience)
• Strong programming skills, such as: Python, MySQL (experience)
• Solid AIML Foundation and skillset with project experiences (experience)
• Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written (In both Chinese and English). (experience)
• Self-driving and self-motivated to find smart ways to tackle issues (experience)
• Good teamwork spirit (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD in Communication/Information Engineering/EE or CS (degree in communication)
• Solid knowledge of wireless communication (experience)
• Project experience on iOS or Android is highly preferred (experience)
• Familiarity with data processing and analysis tools (such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn) to efficiently handle large-scale datasets. (experience)
• Proficiency in time-series forecasting techniques (e.g. LSTM) to model and predict related metrics and potential issues over time. (experience)
• Experience in fine-tuning pre-trained machine learning to adapt them to datasets and prediction tasks. (experience)

Responsibilities

• The Field Design Engineering (FDE) Team is responsible for all Apple wireless products(iPhone/ iPad/ Apple Watch, etc.) and wireless technology(Cellular/ WiFi/ BlueTooth/ UWB/ GNSS, etc.) design and evaluation in Field - live network. Our goal is to deliver best user experience.
• Now, FDE team has an opportunity for a forward-thinking and highly motivated intern for 6-12 month.
• You will work together with our dedicated Engineers on evolutionary wireless technologies and products, which will change people’s life. You will contribute to design, evaluation and validation process deeply. Bring in your creative ideas and passion, you will learn more than you expected.
• Field Design Engineering team is a global team across worldwide, you will be based in Beijing. While you have the chance to work with Engineers from different countries to expand your horizon of experiences and visions.
• This role will involve in Software and Hardware R&D from initial phase, working on different wireless technologies(including 5G, LTE, NFC, GNSS technology, WiFi/Bluetooth, UWB) from design/prototype phase till finalization and post production/launch to end users.
• You will work with our excellent Apple Engineering team on innovative project, in which you will be deeply involved into Product design, feature investigation, evaluation them in real world.
• This includes to study and qualify relevant features at system level, from functional and performance perspective. Run focused experiments to understand and identify root cause of any issues and raise proposal of innovative ideas to influence the design from user experience point of view.
• Assist to build up comprehensive database with various data from live network and real user scenarios
• Work closely with Experienced Field Design Engineers and multi-functional teams to deep dive the data
• Develop models based on Large-Scale data to predict potential issues, to support decision-making processes across teams
