The Haptic Engineering team develops innovative haptic solutions that are central to Apple’s products, including the iPhone and Apple Watch. Our key goal is to enable the world’s best user-experience and explore the possibilities using haptics. We are a highly multi-functional team working in a hands-on environment that values creativity, engineering excellence, and passion for innovation. We are seeking a control engineer to lead the design, development, and validation of control systems and algorithms for next-generation haptic actuators and experiences. Come join us! Your role will encompass a diverse array of responsibilities, including: Control system design, analysis, and integration for haptic actuators Characterize and validate haptic module and system performance Perform system modeling and simulation Prototype bring-up, debug and characterization Define factory test requirements for haptic system Author engineering requirements and specifications Communicating cross-functionally and throughout management structure (written, verbal, and presentation) Perform failure mode analysis and problem solving International travel to support the product development IP generation

Required Qualifications
- BS and a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience (experience, 3 years)
- Strong background in control engineering, dynamics, and signal processing (experience)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (experience)
- Team Oriented: must be able to thrive in collaborative cross-functional environments (experience)
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience in control system design, analysis, implementation, and validation (experience)
- Familiarity with modeling electro-mechanical system (experience)
- Proficiency with Matlab/Simulink and C/C++ (experience)
- Experience with electromagnetic or piezoelectric actuators is a plus (experience)
- Experience with high volume mass production is a plus (experience)
- Knowledge of micro controller or embedded hardware/software is a plus (experience)
- Knowledge of state-space techniques is a plus (experience)
- Knowledge of nonlinear control technique is a plus (experience)
- Experience with AI/ML-based control system design is a plus (experience)
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Applied Physics or equivalent with a specialization in control engineering (experience)
