Lead Trust & Safety Intelligence Engineer

full-timePosted: Sep 10, 2025

Job Description

Are you ready to make a significant impact at the intersection of data, regulation, and user safety within Apple? If you are passionate about leveraging complex data models to navigate regulatory challenges, support critical Trust & Safety programs, and provide compelling, data-driven insights, we would love for you to apply! The Apple Services Data Science & Analytics organization drives decisions that improve the customer experience, accelerate growth, and uncover new business opportunities while respecting user privacy and adhering to regulatory policy. We work on some of the largest e-commerce and media streaming businesses in the world and have an incredible team collaborating on the best ways to improve these services for our customers! Our team’s culture is centered around rapid iteration with open feedback and healthy debate to curate the best outcomes. We encourage independent decision-making and taking calculated risks. Our team works as an analytical advisor with partners across product, design, engineering, marketing, editorial, legal, and business teams. As a Lead Trust & Safety Intelligence Engineer on the Services Data Science & Analytics team, you will operate at the critical intersection of data science and legal analysis. You will work with massive internet-scale data across numerous product and customer touch-points, undertaking in-depth quantitative analysis, and distilling data into actionable and intuitive findings to drive informed decisions within legal and regulatory contexts. A great fit for this role can communicate and collaborate across many different teams, has an agile approach to solving challenging problems quickly, and stresses the details. We are looking for you to collaborate with Legal, Regulatory, and Trust & Safety teams in a data advisory capacity. This involves deeply understanding the cases and RFIs being assessed, determining what data is required, making recommendations on responses, and then compiling the data for production accordingly. Often you will closely partner with our data science & analytics peers on metrics, datasets, and expanding the automation around legal and regulatory initiatives. Your work may involve analyzing patterns of policy violations, user behavior risks, content moderation effectiveness, or fraud prevention data to inform strategic decisions. Extensive collaboration with Legal, Compliance, Competition, Law Enforcement, Trust & Safety, as well as Product, Business, Engineering, and Marketing teams is vital to our success. In this role, you will iterate with these teams on key cases, influence how our Services data is structured and shared, and be responsible for the accuracy and quality of the advisory and productions. Over time, you will establish and socialize a comprehensive roadmap to communicate and manage legal stakeholder expectations while enabling org-wide transparency on progress. This role will require extensive experience taking complex, multifaceted legal projects from initial inquiry to data production. Ideally, you have a curious mindset with the ability to condense complex concepts and analysis into clear and concise takeaways that drive action. We’re looking for someone known for effectively bridging analytics and business/legal teams, with an ability to masterfully speak the language of both.
