Apple’s IS&T Accessibility Center for Excellence (CoE) team is a group created with the purpose of promoting and supporting accessibility globally across Apple, partnering to embed accessibility into customer and employee-facing digital services, apps, and websites. We have an exciting opportunity for a talented technical and inclusive leader on our CoE team. This role requires self-drive, attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and someone comfortable with being hands-on where required in a high-paced environment. As an Accessibility Lead and Manager on the team, you will: - Drive execution, governance, and continuous improvement across a focus area, woking with cross-functional teams. - Understand the landscape of projects in the focus area by working and building relationships with key stakeholders in cross-functional teams. - Lead and mentor a team of accessibility subject matter experts, providing technical oversight, career development, and workload prioritization. - Support your direct reports in their technical reviews of designs, code, and testing methodologies, stepping in for hands-on review when needed. - Deliver regular progress updates to senior leadership, translating technical accessibility work into business impact and strategic recommendations. - Partner with product managers and engineering leads to integrate accessibility requirements into roadmaps and planning processes and advocate for accessibility resources and priorities in cross-functional discussions. - Lead and contribute to internal accessibility initiatives including training program development, awareness events, technical documentation, and cross-functional education that builds organizational capability.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience in hiring, mentoring, and managing the performance of staff. (experience)
  • Strong experience in front-end engineering or designing and developing applications in Web, iOS or macOS. (experience)
  • Understanding of WCAG 2.x guidelines and Apple Human Interface Guidelines. (experience)
  • Knowledge of accessibility features built into Apple products and other assistive technologies. (experience)
  • Ability to communicate and influence senior executives and stakeholders using excellent negotiation skills. (experience)
  • Ability to make hard calls when dealing with complexity, conflicting priorities and aggressive schedules. (experience)
  • A passion for new technologies and continuous learning. (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in web application development using web technologies, including front-end frameworks and accessible implementations. (experience)
  • Result-oriented and demonstrates the high degree of ownership and accountability. (degree)
