Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field, or related experience. (experience)
• Strong programming skills building backend API services using Python (preferred) and/or Java (required) (experience)
• 4+ years of experience in software architecture design and development with expertise in Domain Driven Design, Service Oriented Architecture, and Distributed Systems (experience, 4 years)
• 2+ years of experience in technical leadership roles focused on platform engineering or infrastructure (experience, 2 years)
• Proficiency with containerized technologies (Docker) and container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, Terraform) (experience)
• Proven ability to design, operate, and maintain distributed systems (monitoring, observability, automation, etc.) (experience)
• Strong understanding of modern software development lifecycles and developer tooling (experience)
• Excellent communication skills and comfort working in cross-functional engineering environments (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with AI/ML technologies including LLMs, AI Agents (LangChain, Google ADK, etc.) (experience)
• Experience developing internal platforms or developer experience tools (experience)
• Track record designing client-agnostic APIs using REST and/or GraphQL (experience)
• Understanding of OAuth 2.0 fundamentals (authentication, delegated authorization, etc) (experience)

• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with non-technical audience (experience)

• The Apple Ads platform engineering team is building a world-class developer platform to accelerate the software development lifecycle for internal engineering teams. We are developing a Generative AI-powered Developer Experience Platform specifically tailored for Apple Ads Engineers, aiming to assist our app development teams with cutting-edge AI tools. This role encompasses multiple backend aspects, including ensuring the accuracy of LLM-based code generation and seamless integration with various enterprise services within Apple. You will collaborate closely with Machine Learning engineers, Software Engineers, and Reliability Engineers to deliver an end-to-end solution for this platform, directly impacting the speed and efficiency of Apple Ads development.
