The Apple Cloud Infrastructure team is building the next generation of platforms that empower engineers in Apple to build products that our customers love. We're a fast paced, highly skilled team designing and building a suite of infrastructure and platform services. We are developing new, innovative observability services and are searching for a leader who has experience in large-scale distributed systems and can lead a team of highly talented engineers. If the thought of working with petabytes of data interests you, this is the place to be. Our systems must scale globally, stay highly available, and "just work”, while supporting some of the largest services in world. - Understanding of core distributed systems concepts, such as fault-tolerance, consistency, and distributed rate-limiting (experience)
- Great communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills (experience)
- Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical capabilities (experience)
- Bachelor's degree in CS or equivalent (degree in cs or equivalent)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with implementing observability (metrics, alerting, logging, tracing) at scale (experience)
- Understanding of core CS concepts including data structures, algorithms and concurrent programming (experience)
- Experience with one of Java, Scala, Golang, or Rust (experience)
- Experience managing other managers or senior ICs (experience)
- 15+ years of industry experience (experience, 15 years)
- 10+ years experience as a manager (experience, 10 years)
