Job Description
Apple is seeking an engineering program manager to lead the iCloud Edge Services portfolio as part of the Apple Services Engineering (ASE) organization. We are looking for passionate, motivated individuals looking to contribute to the development and execution of the extraordinary services and infrastructure that power Apple’s products and bring the iCloud experience closer to the user. You will partner with teams and vendors whose mission is to build, maintain, and improve the platform and product layer of Apple’s most critical cloud services at scale. Your work will focus on services, features, quality, reliability, scalability, privacy and security technologies that make up the iCloud Edge Services and includes Privacy Platform and Gateway Services. We influence and partner in defining and implementing standard processes that improve our operational and privacy efficiency as well as play a key role in the evolution of the next generation of private cloud compute and device connectivity for Apple. Our work is integral through the entire software stack so you will have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of engineering teams. You are technically curious and a functional expert autonomously lead multiple projects and tracks of works of varying scale and complexity with cross-functional and geographically dispersed development teams with only consultative direction from leadership. This is not a task-based job; we are accountable for delivering secure and performant systems. We partner with engineering leaders and teams as you will influence and drive software delivery.

Required Qualifications
- BS in computer science or a related field. (experience)
- 5+ years of technical project and/or program management experience in Cloud / Edge Services field (experience, 5 years)
- Familiar with software & server delivery, reliability, privacy and other workflows as part of SDLC. (experience)
- Collaborative engagement and technical empathy for engineers (experience)
- Experience as a project lead, able to focus and simplify, balancing the details with goals, priorities, and trade-offs in mind (experience)
- Shown ability to meet deadlines and schedule constraints; working effectively with and influence multiple collaborators across a highly-matrixed, multi-functional organization (experience)
- Ability to filter and distill relevant information for the right audience with strong presentation skills both in person and in multi-location meetings (experience)
- Proven record in defining processes, key metrics and executing on them (experience)
- Leadership and conflict resolution skills (experience)
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills (experience)
- Able to think critically and creatively, identify risks and drive the execution across multiple teams to remediate them (experience)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in some or all of the following areas: Privacy Platform, Gateway Services. (OHTTP, Private Access Tokens), Testing Automation, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD). (experience)
Responsibilities
- You are technically curious and a functional expert autonomously lead multiple projects and tracks of works of varying scale and complexity with cross-functional and geographically dispersed development teams with only consultative direction from leadership.
- This is not a task-based job; we are accountable for delivering secure and performant systems. We partner with engineering leaders and teams as you will influence and drive software delivery.
- You will review business requirements, ensure clarity and establish expectations for services requested while developing and executing processes, frameworks, metrics, project plans, defining scope, schedule, deliverables and resources.
- You will be able to operate at all levels of the organization; going deep in to the detail to prioritize team activities and drive resolution of issues across all areas of the program while communicating status and issues to teams, leadership and other partners.
- We facilitate focused concise status and program operations.
- You will advise and carry out risk assessment and mitigation plans as needed.
- Execution is critical so you will drive maturity programs with cross-functional organizations and teams while continuously working to improve the software development lifecycle process within the org.
- We represent the engineering teams with other internal and external organizations within Apple
