Apple's Strategic Data Solutions team is responsible for mitigating fraud, waste and abuse company-wide while optimizing and empowering our customers and internal partners. The Strategic Data Solutions Software Engineering team is building an environment to enable ground breaking data analysis over Petabytes of data. We work side-by-side with data scientists and implement scalable, easy-to-use systems and tools. We are seeking a customer-focused, passionate and driven Software Engineer with experience in building analytic tools and solutions. As a Full Stack Software Engineer on the SDS team, you will work closely with Machine Learning Engineers and other Software Engineers to lead the design and implementation of both front end and back end systems and tools to support the fraud prevention efforts of SDS. With the expansive data we have, our job is to build meaningful data relationships and engagement experiences for our internal customers. Required Qualifications
- BS/MS or advanced degree in Computer Science or Data Analytics related field or equivalent experience (experience)
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering/data science (experience, 5 years)
- Extensive experience with a variety of different JavaScript frameworks, such as Angular, React, Backbone, Ember, Vue, Svelte (experience)
- Ability to build complex, reusable components and scalable front-end architectures (experience)
- Proficiency with modern web technologies like HTML5, CSS, Javascript and familiarity with the complete web stack (experience)
- Understanding of API design principles and best practices (experience)
- Deep Knowledge of backend technologies like Node.js and Express, Python and Flask, Java and Spring Boot, etc (experience)
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong industry experience in designing building scalable and highly performant web applications (experience)
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud platform deployment (experience)
- Experience with Relational databases and NoSQL databases (experience)
- Experience with one or more object oriented programing language such as Java, Python, C++ etc (experience)
- Demonstrated understanding of the full software development lifecycle (experience)
- Solid grasp of computer science fundamentals including data structures and algorithms (experience)
- Self-motivated, proactive, and solution-oriented (experience)
- Demonstrated excellence of analytical and problem solving skills (experience)
- Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication (experience)
- Ability to lead and influence technical decisions in a fast-paced and challenging work environment. (experience)
