Developer Experience Platform team is looking for an extraordinary Python backend engineer who has a robust understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs)and Generative AI to join our team. You will help design, implement the core backend services and pipelines that integrate with various other enterprise services including LLMs and bring Gen AI services. You would support our mission by applying groundbreaking research in this rapidly evolving and exciting space, to our daily work. By contributing to our team, you’ll play an integral part in developing our developer productivity tools, leaving a significant footprint on the evolution of our enterprise AI platforms. Developer Experience Platform team provides frameworks, services and developer tools to internal engineering teams in Apple to accelerate their SDLC. We are working on a Generative AI based Developer Experience Platform for internal use and assist our app development team. This role involves multiple aspects on the backend, like ensuring LLM based code generation is accurate, and integrating with various enterprise services. You will collaborate with Machine Learning engineers, Software engineers, and other data scientists to deliver and end to end solution for this platform.

Required Qualifications

- Proven experience in building complex agentic systems using LLMs. Strong Python programming skills, with a background in developing scalable and robust services using FastAPI or similar frameworks. (experience)
- Experience in Machine Learning with a particular emphasis on Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval Augmented Generation(RAG) and Generative AI. (experience)
- 4+ years of industry experience focussed on ML or software engineering. (experience, 4 years)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field, or related experience. (experience)
- Some experience in technical leadership/mentorship in ML or software engineering experience a plus. (experience)
- Familiarity with large language model frameworks for evaluating and fine-tuning models. (experience)
- Communicating effectively, both written and verbal, with technical and non-technical cross-functional teams. (experience)
- Proven track record of building enterprise-grade ML pipelines (data prep, distributed training, optimization, monitoring) in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure). (experience)
- Collaborative mindset to brainstorm on architectural patterns to arrive at the best approach. Keen interest in keeping up with the latest in the industry. (experience)
- Experience working on platform engineering or a developer experience platform is a plus. (experience)

This role involves multiple aspects on the backend, like ensuring LLM based code generation is accurate, and integrating with various enterprise services. You will collaborate with Machine Learning engineers, Software engineers, and other data scientists to deliver and end to end solution for this platform.
- This is a hands-on role for developing and supporting new and existing features. This role requires partnering with cross-functional teams to effectively coordinate the complex interdependencies inherent in application development.
