We are seeking a finite element analyst to conduct structural, thermal, and dynamic analysis of sensing technology. Come join us! We are seeking a highly motivated Simulation Engineer to push the boundaries of virtual product development by combining traditional finite element analysis with modern automation and data-driven methods. In this role, you will go beyond standard analysis by building scalable workflows, uncovering hidden sensitivities to ensure robust solutions across mechanical and thermal challenges. You will work with advanced FEA and CFD tools to analyze structural, dynamic, and thermal performance, while also developing automated processes that improve efficiency and consistency. This position offers the opportunity to shape design decisions early, drive innovation in simulation practices, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact engineering solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • BS and a minimum of 3 years relevant industry experience (experience, 3 years)
  • Strong knowledge of solid mechanics and heat transfer (experience)
  • Hands-on experience in FEA (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mechanics, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline, with 3+ years of relevant industry experience (experience, 3 years)
  • Advanced experience in FEA and CFD, preferably in high-volume consumer electronic products (experience)
  • Direct experience with sensor technologies is a plus (experience)
  • Proficiency in Abaqus, ANSYS (Mechanical/Icepak), COMSOL, or similar simulation tools (experience)
  • Proficiency in Python and/or MATLAB for scripting and automation (experience)
  • Experience with data and statistical analysis methods (Monte Carlo, DOE, statistical process control) is a plus (experience)
  • Additional exposure to electromagnetics and electrostatics, acoustics, fatigue, fracture mechanics, or biomechanics (experience)
  • Applied knowledge of material testing and modeling for nonlinear materials (e.g., adhesives, elastomers, polymers) (experience)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, external partners, and management, while contributing positively to the engineering community (experience)

Responsibilities

  • We are seeking a highly motivated Simulation Engineer to push the boundaries of virtual product development by combining traditional finite element analysis with modern automation and data-driven methods. In this role, you will go beyond standard analysis by building scalable workflows, uncovering hidden sensitivities to ensure robust solutions across mechanical and thermal challenges. You will work with advanced FEA and CFD tools to analyze structural, dynamic, and thermal performance, while also developing automated processes that improve efficiency and consistency. This position offers the opportunity to shape design decisions early, drive innovation in simulation practices, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact engineering solutions.
  • Own and execute FEA for structural, dynamic, and thermal analysis of components and assemblies.
  • Perform CFD simulations to assess heat transfer and optimize thermal performance of designs.
  • Build automated workflow using commercially available and customized tools to streamline and standardize simulations.
  • Use sensitivity analysis, data analysis, and uncertainty quantification approaches to drive robust design decisions.
  • Support model development with comprehensive material characterization and focused validation testing.
  • Lead failure analysis, design of experiments (DoE), and root cause investigations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate models and communicate results effectively.
