Job Description

Play a role in bringing Apple technology to the world. We are looking for a hardworking, dedicated, and results-oriented 3D Tech Artist. You would join a team building simulation art assets. As an animator/artist in the AIML Simulation group, you will have an opportunity to be part of an innovation-focused organization within Apple that is developing simulations and generating synthetic data. You will be able to work on highly ambitious and impactful simulation projects. This team has a strong focus on enabling AIML-based products and features. Our ideal team member has strong experience as an animator and strong secondary skills in environment and hard surface modeling. They bring experience with video game and film techniques, but are also fearless when it comes to trying new things. We always value team members who can collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams across the organization.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years minimum experience in animation, at least some in video games (experience, 3 years)
  • Artistic portfolio and work samples. (experience)
  • Strong, fundamental art skills and experience with 3D art tools (experience)
  • Experience with 3D environment modeling: asset creation, texturing (Substance, (experience)
  • Photoshop), and optimization for real-time use (experience)
  • Familiarity with PBR workflows and environment art pipelines (experience)
  • Basic knowledge of rigging and skinning (experience)
  • Able to estimate their schedule and deliver products on that schedule (experience)
  • Can implement feedback within an iterative development process (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Character modeling experience (experience)
  • Experience capturing and integrating mocap data (experience)
  • Experience with procedural materials systems (experience)

  • Create realistic character animations and environmental animations.
  • Contribute to a dynamic, runtime adaptive animation system
  • Create animation effects including emotions, reactions, behaviors, movements,
  • personalities to character models.
  • 3D modeling:
  • ◦ Find and customize assets from online and internal sources
  • ◦ Create environmental/hard surface models and materials from scratch when
  • required
  • Communicate and coordinate with tech artists, programmers to achieve project goals
