The Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) department based in Cork develops the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and other software that supports Apple's manufacturing operations in the EMEIA Region. We are a multi-functional team, taking on challenging software engineering problems across a broad range of Apple manufacturing services. Our Shop Floor Control System is a large set of interconnected systems and software used for data collection, process control and reporting in a manufacturing environment. The requirements of manufacturing are continually evolving to improve efficiency and to support new products & process changes. You will be working on solution and software architecture, design and development. You will lead projects, own solutions, collaborate with customers on requirements and issues including engineering teams and vendors, and facilitate customer / user training. We are seeking a Full-Stack Software Developer who possesses a real passion for developing extraordinary products with a deep appreciation for user experience. In this role you will: - Gather requirements from internal stakeholders for new Shop Floor System capabilities, new product introductions and manufacturing process optimisations. - Work across a broad technology stack to develop software solutions that bring tangible, lasting, positive change to Apple’s Manufacturing Operations and the customers it serves. - Collaborate with Engineering and Operations teams to test, deploy & continuously improve our manufacturing software. - Troubleshoot issues, maintain IT infrastructure and ensure continued smooth operation of the manufacturing processes we support.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience (experience)
  • Proven experience in the full software development lifecycle, from design to deployment. (experience)
  • Experience developing web based, database driven applications using PHP, MVC application frameworks (e.g. Symfony) and LAMP stack deployment. (experience)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Computer Science or similar (degree in computer science or similar)
  • Knowledge of virtualisation and container technologies, including Kubernetes and Docker. (experience)
  • Experience in Ul development using frameworks such as React.js. (experience)
  • Proven ability to work to tight deadlines in a dynamic environment (experience)
  • Experience working with web frameworks (e.g Symfony, Laravel, Rails, Spring etc) (experience)
  • Version Control System experience (e.g. GIT) (experience)
  • Understanding of databases, specifically MySQL (experience)
  • Linux administration, virtualisation & cloud computing (experience)
  • Strong infrastructure management skills, including Linux server administration. (experience)
  • Experience of high volume manufacturing processes (experience)
