In the DevPubs content engineering team, we tell the world about innovative new features and capabilities available to developers. We are among the first engineers to use these new technologies, we give feedback to the internal engineers, and ultimately document new APIs for millions of Apple developers to use in their own apps. We are looking for a talented engineer and experienced manager who is excited to lead a team responsible for teaching the world-wide community of developers about Apple technologies. Our software engineers are creative, innovative, self motivated people who love working with bleeding-edge technology. The ideal candidate will be a knowledgeable generalist who is comfortable managing a distributed team responsible for a variety of tasks, from building sample projects with evolving APIs, reviewing and commenting on API proposals, and teaching developers how to use entirely new technology. We work closely with cross functional departments across the company, so strong communication skills and problem solving abilities are essential. As a manager within the Developer Publications content team, you will manage a distributed team of content engineers that work closely with the engineers that build Apple’s developer frameworks. You will need to stay current on rapidly evolving technologies, and ensure your team is actively maintaining their engineering expertise. You and your team will be responsible for teaching developers around the world how to take advantage of the latest Apple features, technologies, and design principles so that their apps can be the best in the world. As their manager, you will lead your team to: - Deliver sample code that uses new and existing API in a manner that is both easy to understand, and covers the most common use cases - Author articles, tutorials, and API reference documentation - Work with marketing to ensure that important technologies are explained in a manner that highlights the most value to Apple customers - Learn how to employ AI and LLM (Large Language Model) technology to deliver content more efficiently and at even higher quality - Grow their engineering ability to take on new responsibilities and constantly learn new skills - Foster an inclusive work environment that values diverse perspectives - Train and integrate new employees, teaching the best practices of great documentation to experienced software engineers

Required Qualifications
- Leadership experience managing a software engineering team or leading cross-functional efforts as a high-responsibility individual (experience)
- Proven track record leading cross-functional efforts using common software development processes (experience)
- Experience engineering software and shipping to production (experience)
- Experience adapting to challenges, providing support, and leading by example in a constantly changing environment (experience)
- Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills (experience)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (experience)
Preferred Qualifications
- BS Degree in CS, ME, EE, or equivalent. (degree in cs)
- Excellent communication and team leadership skills (experience)
- Proven track record of growing and developing people (experience)
- Extensive cross-functional project leadership and delivery experience (experience)
- Knowledge of the Swift programming language (experience)
- Experience with AI and LLMs (Large Language Models) (experience)
- Experience writing and maintaining public developer documentation (experience)
- Passion for writing simple, concise, elegant code and prose (experience)
