Here, you’ll do more than join something — you’ll add something. Apple is looking for a Plastic / Metal materials Subject Matter Expert in APAC China team. You will be accountable for managing process development, material selection, implementation and optimization of enclosure components at vendor sides. A successful candidate needs to be a flexible thinker and be able to problem solve independence on their respective technical area. You will focus on ensuring new product designs are manufacturable, high-quality, and cost-effective. The key responsibilities include: - Early engagement with PD about new project development, materials choosing and risk assessment. - Painting fixture design DFM approval, buy off vendor’s process. Yield rate improvement to meet ramp target. Optimizing the capacity and reduce the material usage. - Co-work with x-function team to fix the decoration’s reliability issue. Lead the coating DOEs. - Drive the diversity coating technology development to meet customize ID requirement and reliability spec. - FA skills to figure out the failure mechanism. - Oversea coating line transfer’s buy off.

Required Qualifications
- Academical background in Chemistry Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or relevant fields. (experience)
- Good verbal communication and e-mail / report written skills in English (experience)
- Minimum 5 years experience in the Plastic / Metal coating process engineering (experience, 5 years)
- Able to frequently travel out to on site handle the suppliers both in China domestic and overseas. (experience)
Preferred Qualifications
- Water borne paint application experience. (experience)
- Supplier management experience in paint manufacturing or related industry. (experience)
- Knowledges of decoration material, processes design for manufacturing and Chemical composition analysis. (experience)
- Experience in managing sophisticated development programs with overseas vendors (Asia). (experience)
- Strong collaboration ability with multiple teams like Product Design, ID, Procurement, PM, Quality and Tooling etc. (experience)
