System Integration Station DRI Manager

Job Description

The System Integration station DRI team needs a manager to lead a group of the Product Calibration and Test engineers to develop customized solutions for calibrating, characterizing, and testing devices for Apple’s new product introduction (NPI). This team will work closely with the hardware groups and operation team in the new product introduction (NPI) phase to ensure the success of current and future Apple products. This position is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer with leadership managing a team. Be one of the first people in the world to witness new Apple products coming together for the first time. You are responsible for provide the leadership to the sDRI team, to develop and integrate system solutions that is flexible and mass-production friendly to calibrate and inspect fully assembled devices. The team will work on system design, development, and factory deployment during new product introduction (NPI) stage, with the support from SW/HW functional teams. - Manage a team of 5+ engineers with strong leadership and problem solving ability. - Work closely with design engineers, vendors, and operations teams to drive delivery of integrated systems aligned with overall project schedule - Act as lead system integrator, monitoring overall project status & securing / allocations resources needed to succeed - Lead prototype build activities; driving schedule, tracking issues to closure, managing experiments, and reporting progress - Cross-functionally communicate key developments and updates on new projects/products - Drive the day-to-day activities to meet the overall program objectives focusing on process within engineering design, build, and validation cycles

Required Qualifications

  • BS/MS/PhD in EE/CS/Physics/Optics/Color Science/Acoustics (degree in ee)
  • 6+ years experience in consumer electronics design & manufacture, showing increasing levels of leadership. (experience, 6 years)
  • 3+ years experience of leading a team with 5+ engineers (experience, 3 years)
  • Knowledge of EE fundamentals, and at least one of the following: 1)Optical Sciences / Photonics 2) Image processing 3) Camera engineering 4) Acoustics, transducer design, and/or N&V 5) Touch technology (experience)
  • The position requires 25% domestic travel. (experience)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understands and operates well with rapid development cycles; remains flexible and calm in the face of uncertainty (experience)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, clear technical communications, self-motivated and very responsible in work you're doing. (experience)
  • Positive outlook and eager to stepping into uncharted technology space and work hard to deliver solutions in a timely fashion. (experience)
  • Familiarity with optical metrology tools, e.g. colorimeters, spectrometers, digital camera and light sources is a huge plus. (experience)

Responsibilities
