As a Full Stack Software Engineer on our team, you will be at the heart of this process. In this role, you’ll design and build full-stack applications and services that power watchOS software development and QA teams. You’ll work across the entire lifecycle, from creating intuitive user interfaces to developing scalable backend systems. Your work will directly accelerate innovation and help ensure the high quality of the software that runs on millions of Apple Watches worldwide.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong fundamentals in computer science including object-oriented design. A specific degree or concentration is not required. (degree in computer science including object)
  • Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Python, Ruby, Swift, or JavaScript, with an eagerness to learn new technologies. (experience)
  • Experience designing responsive frontend applications with modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., ReactJS, AngularJS, Vue.js), with a good foundation in UI/UX design principles. (experience)
  • Strong understanding of web services principles, security best practices, and protocols (HTTP, SSL/TLS, REST APIs). (experience)
  • Knowledge of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQLite) and database design principles. (experience)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a passion for automation and tooling in software development. (experience)
  • 3+ years of relevant industry experience in a software engineering or related role. (experience, 3 years)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing scalable backend services, including web frameworks (Rails, Django, Express), API design (REST/GraphQL), and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes). (experience)
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) and version control systems (Git). (experience)
  • Awareness of cloud platforms and infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and configuration management tools (Chef, Puppet, Ansible). (experience)
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability platforms like Prometheus, Grafana, or Splunk. (experience)

Responsibilities

  • In this role, you’ll design and build full-stack applications and services that power watchOS software development and QA teams. You’ll work across the entire lifecycle, from creating intuitive user interfaces to developing scalable backend systems. Your work will directly accelerate innovation and help ensure the high quality of the software that runs on millions of Apple Watches worldwide.
  • Design, develop, and deploy full‑stack frontend UI and backend APIs to produce modular, testable, production‑ready code and intuitive tools for software engineering.
  • Architect and maintain scalable, cloud-native services capable of scheduling, running, and processing thousands of watchOS tests daily.
  • Implement and manage CI/CD services that automatically build, test, and integrate software updates while validating code quality, security, and performance.
  • Monitor system health with metrics and logs, set up alerts and dashboards to continuously improve automation reliability.
  • Prototype and evaluate emerging technologies for Apple‑scale tool usage.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, QA leads, lab managers, and automation engineers to gather requirements, iterate on designs, and drive adoption of new tools.
  • Investigate, debug, and resolve complex issues across dependent projects and systems, performing root cause analysis to drive long-term stability and prevent recurrence.
