Role Overview

The Applied AI Engineer (Hybrid) role in Bangalore, India, sits within our AI-first applied engineering team. We're transforming operations and infrastructure at scale by converting cutting-edge AI into production systems that boost reliability, velocity, and efficiency. This position demands deep AI engineering expertise fused with robust software discipline. You'll harness LLMs, orchestration frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, and MCP, retrieval pipelines, and evaluation harnesses to craft copilots, automated decision engines, and large-scale migration frameworks. Emphasis is on trustworthiness, measurability, and safety through rigorous evaluation gates, grounding, and hallucination detection. Success translates prototypes into daily essentials: incident-triaging copilots, adaptive configuration recommenders, multi-repo migration automators, and model accountability evaluators. Collaborate with SRE, Security, and Infrastructure Foundations teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and deploy LLM-powered systems slashing toil, speeding remediation, and enhancing operations decision-making.
• Design evaluation frameworks including hallucination tests, regression harnesses, benchmarks, and quality gates for secure rollouts.
• Develop retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines and data strategies grounded in logs, telemetry, runbooks, and metadata.
• Engineer AI copilots and natural-language interfaces for seamless operational data and workflow interaction.
• Create frameworks for large-scale automation like safe code migrations and transformation pipelines.
• Apply adaptive AI for system configuration optimization, anomaly prediction, and preventive action recommendations.
• Partner with AI Platform, SRE/Infra/Data Services, and Security teams, owning application logic, correctness, evaluation, and safety.
• Implement guardrails: prompt injection defenses, PII filtering, constrained decoding, model observability.
• Build Python/Go SDKs/APIs and intuitive JavaScript/React UIs for human-in-the-loop workflows.
• Leverage orchestration frameworks for multi-step, tool-augmented workflows.

Qualifications & Requirements

To thrive, bring 6+ years of development experience with strong skills in JavaScript, Python, or Go. Proven track record shipping LLM-based systems to production with tangible impact is essential. Expertise in LLM evaluation—benchmarks, hallucination/regression tests, grounding metrics—is non-negotiable. Hands-on mastery of LLM orchestration (LangChain, LangGraph, MCP, agent frameworks) and deep RAG understanding (embeddings, retrieval metrics, re-ranking, precision/recall) are required. Excel at converting ambiguous operational challenges into AI-first solutions with defined KPIs.

Bonus Qualifications: Fine-tuning/adapters (LoRA, QLoRA, continual learning), safety tuning, inference optimization, AI copilots for engineers, JavaScript/React frontend, reinforcement learning, adaptive systems, or optimization methods.
