Role Overview

This Summer 2026 Applied Machine Learning Internship in Bucharest, Romania, offers students a chance to dive into cutting-edge cybersecurity technology. Join our multidisciplinary team of Big Data, Machine Learning, and Security experts to enhance the Falcon platform's detection capabilities. You'll apply coding and ML skills to real-world threats, leveraging unique cybersecurity data in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. This paid, virtual/remote internship features flexible hours, an assigned mentor, and exposure to AWS cloud, Python, Sklearn, XGBoost, TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, Git, CI/CD, and Docker. Work on H100 and B200 GPU clusters to deploy ML models that combat sophisticated attacks.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you'll contribute directly to stopping breaches:

• Collaborate with Senior Applied Machine Learning Engineers to build predictive models and tooling that bolster Falcon's threat detection.
• Experiment with innovative algorithms and methodologies to refine ML models against evolving cyber threats.
• Automate and visualize data analyses, results, and processes within our machine learning pipelines.
• Extract features and deploy malware classifiers using massive datasets on AWS and GPU infrastructure.
• Gain hands-on experience in Linux, improving efficiency and detection in one-of-a-kind cybersecurity datasets.

Qualifications & Requirements

We're seeking passionate, hands-on learners ready to tackle impactful challenges:

• 3rd or final-year Computer Science student (Master's or PhD candidates also welcome).
• Solid grasp of basic ML algorithms (e.g., SVM, Logistic Regression) and their tradeoffs.
• Experience writing Python code to preprocess data and derive actionable insights.
• Hands-on approach to data exploration and learning new domains.
• Proficiency in Linux environments and strong English communication skills.

Bonus: Experience with XGBoost, Sklearn, TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch; security enthusiasm.
