Key Responsibilities

  • Leads team of engineers of various roles and experience level.

  • Ensures that all projects and programs are completed in accordance with predetermined requirements.

  • Oversees and ensures that all phases of project, program and/or process development are documented and that information required in other functional areas is reported, disseminated, or transferred, as appropriate. Ensures compliance with company policies including (but not limited to) engineering/lab notebooks, patents, Intellectual property, confidentiality, ISO, safety and others as required. 

  • Develops, implements, and maintains methods, operation sequence and processes in the fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies.

  • Interfaces with other engineering functions to coordinate the release of product improvements and/or new products.

  • Launches, releases, approves and implements or issues engineering change requests as required to support design engineering and Operations with new and existing products.

  • Estimates manufacturing costs, determines time standards and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements.

  • Spearheads research and development of new manufacturing technologies, as appropriate, and ensures that newly created processes, designs, and/or methodologies are incorporated into Applied Materials products/services, and/or disseminated to other areas as needed.

  • Ensures that common engineering technology and software packages are utilized for optimization of design development activities and timelines to ensure rapid commercialization.

  • Develop business processes to improve group/teams effectiveness and driver of innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Performs Process Failure Mode, Effects and Criticality Analysis when working with New Product Development.

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Manufacturing

  • Back-end process experiences is compulsory, e.g. singulation, optics bonding, laser engraving, dicing, etc.

  • At least 2 years of supervisory experiences managing a team of engineers

  • Problem-solving and quality-minded personality

  • Ability to work with deadlines and different levels of stakeholders

  • Ability to work with global stakeholders which may lead to having meetings at different time zones

  • Ability to travel for work at times in need
