Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership and Team Guidance

Support the vision for digital products and applications (DPA) by guiding a team of engineers. Ensure alignment with S&T core priorities, fostering collaboration to build scalable solutions that enhance PepsiCo's digital transformation.

Hands-On Development

Engage in hands-on coding using Java, Spring/Spring Boot, JUnit, backend microservices, serverless computing, and REST APIs. Leverage Kubernetes and Kafka for robust, high-performance systems.

Cross-Functional Partnership

Work closely with User Experience, Product Management, IT, Data & Analytics, Emerging Tech, Innovation, and Process Engineering teams to prioritize and deliver the Digital Products portfolio.

Application Support and Escalation

Lead the application support team for 24x7 availability of mission-critical systems. Serve as the primary escalation point, driving resolutions and communicating effectively with stakeholders.

Problem-Solving and Innovation

Expand DPA capabilities through data and AI-driven platforms. Identify and resolve delivery impediments, risks, and changes, while recommending solutions that meet strategic business needs.

Qualifications & Requirements

To excel as an Architect at PepsiCo, candidates need a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with a Master’s or PhD preferred. A minimum of 8 years of relevant software development and engineering management experience is required, including 5+ years hands-on with Java and Spring/Spring Boot ecosystem, JUnit, MicroServices, Serverless Computing, REST APIs, Kubernetes, and Kafka.

Commanding knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design is essential, along with working knowledge of additional languages like Python, Ruby, or Perl.
