Role Overview

As an Asset Care Technician at PepsiCo's Leicester site, you'll play a crucial role in keeping our state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment running smoothly. This position suits skilled electricians and mechanics passionate about maintenance and reliability. Working 42 hours across 3.5 days per week (Tues-Thurs 12-hour shifts 06:30-18:30, plus Fri 06:30-12:30), you'll align with site engineering shutdowns to ensure production lines for Walkers crisps operate at peak performance. Deliver technical support to Engineering and Operations, handling planned and reactive maintenance while driving continuous improvements.

  • Partnering with Maintenance Planners, Line Engineering Leads, and Manufacturing Technicians to complete all planned maintenance tasks efficiently.
  • Offering reactive support to Shift Technicians and Operations during high-demand periods.
  • Linking with Controls System Specialists, Electrical Duty Holders, and Reliability experts for preventative work orders and in-depth analysis.
  • Supporting specialist teams in action completion and continuous improvement initiatives, including health, safety, and food safety measures.
  • Ensuring maintenance plans, task instructions, and stores holdings are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Leading root cause analysis and creating visual management tools for planned maintenance.
  • Acting as an ambassador for engineering standards and best practices site-wide.

Qualifications & Requirements

To succeed, you'll need proven technical expertise and a proactive mindset:

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent engineering apprenticeship with substantial hands-on experience.
  • Recognized electrical or mechanical academic qualification.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) and SCADA systems.
  • Solid understanding of equipment and technical standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, a sense of ownership for safety, quality, and performance, and strong communication abilities.
