Position Summary

Join Sonoco as an Assistant Extrusion Line Operator in Hanover, PA. Reporting to the Production Manager, you'll assist the Press Operator on a flexographic printing press to produce printed rolls of film according to company and customer specifications. Enjoy a rotating 12-hour night shift (7:00pm-7:00am): 3 days on, 2 off, 2 on, 3 off—working about 15 days a month with a three-day weekend every other weekend. Base pay starts at $22.23/hour plus $0.45/hour shift differential, with double time on eligible Saturdays and quarterly performance bonuses.

Key Responsibilities

• Start and operate Spin Welding machines, making adjustments to ensure proper operation and product quality.
• Inspect welded cartridges for adequate welds, proper flashing trim-off, and dust removal.
• Perform repair and part replacement on Spin welders, ACO’s, Scrapers, and Conveyors/Elevators.
• Maintain strict safety precautions during all machine operations.
• Learn Press Operator functions to fill in during absences and handle additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• 2-3 years' experience operating manufacturing machinery.
• Proficiency with basic machine shop tools and mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting/repairs.
• Ability to work well in teams under stress, with overtime as needed.
• Physical capability to lift 50 lbs and work 12-hour shifts.
• Manual dexterity for machinery and computer operation; strong interpersonal skills.
