Role Overview

The Assistant Manager - Process Engineering role at PepsiCo's Howrah, West Bengal facility is pivotal in upholding process and agro equipment reliability. This position ensures 100% equipment availability, volume compliance, true efficiency, and net efficiency across all process lines. You will lead preventive and planned maintenance efforts, minimize scheduled and unscheduled downtimes, and align with the plant's aspirational targets. Key focus areas include on-time Root Cause Analysis (RCA) closure, red tag compliance, adherence to PepsiCo's Maintenance Management guidelines, and achieving zero production losses due to equipment or spares unavailability. Additionally, you will champion statutory compliance, safety standards, GMP practices, and corporate agendas like TPM, Safety, AIB, Productivity, and OHS.

• Safety Leadership: Implement safety standards, participate in safety meetings, close recommendations on time, collaborate with SHE pillar for zero Lost Time Accidents (LTA), and execute safety capex.
• Sustainability Drive: Track and report KPIs like Energy Use Ratio (EUR) and Water Use Ratio (WUR), lead projects to meet goals, and trial new sustainability initiatives.
• Process Maintenance: Schedule weekly/monthly/annual maintenance from OEM manuals, raise indents for spares, ensure Global Control Systems compliance, perform hands-on repairs, prioritize jobs, and monitor efficiency reports.
• Planned Maintenance & Utilities: Develop schedules for boilers, ETP, bio-methanation, WTP, and electrical systems; coordinate cross-functional shutdowns; manage red tags, RCA, and AMC services.
• R&M and VMOH Management: Prepare budgets, control spends per AOP, track power/fuel usage, implement Kaizen for savings, and report MIS daily/weekly.
• Spare Management: Define inventory levels, classify spares, negotiate with vendors, reduce non-moving stock, and innovate equipment designs.
• TPM Agenda: Analyze group problems, design solutions, and drive continuous improvement projects.

Qualifications & Requirements

To succeed in this role, candidates should have:

• A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in process engineering, maintenance, or manufacturing within the food & beverage or FMCG sector.
• Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance, TPM, RCA, GMP, OHS, and statutory compliances.
• Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, and maintenance software; hands-on repair skills for electronics/electrical breakdowns.
• Excellent coordination skills with production, contractors, and cross-functional teams.
• Ability to prepare budgets, analyze data, and drive cost-saving initiatives.

Preferred: Certification in TPM, Six Sigma, or safety management; experience with sustainability KPIs.
