Role Overview

As Assistant Manager - Quality at PepsiCo's Guwahati Snacks Plant, you will play a pivotal role in upholding the highest standards of food safety, quality compliance, and operational excellence. This position involves supporting FSSAI licensing, implementing HACCP and AIB systems, and driving best-in-class practices to ensure products meet global quality norms. Key Responsibilities

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include leading internal and external audits such as AIB, personal hygiene, process, and food safety audits at the plant. You will drive the food safety agenda through monthly audits, ensuring timely CAPA closure and maintaining records of customer and consumer complaints. Developing action plans and building awareness across teams will be key. Executing and monitoring HACCP and AIB standards to achieve top scores (>900+ in unannounced audits), administering hold & clear processes for product dispatch, and supporting Water Risk Systems (WRS) for optimized usage are critical. Additionally, you will support NPD and R&D trials, implement GHK/allergen monitoring, lead TPM circles, coordinate EHS documentation, partner with HR for training, and track key quality performance indicators daily, weekly, and monthly. Ensuring hygiene, sanitation, and a quality-focused culture while troubleshooting issues rounds out your impactful duties.

Accountabilities

Key accountabilities include achieving successful unannounced AIB audits without serious findings, meeting AOP volume quality metrics, excelling in 3P & CFA audits, QAS and ASHA audits, and ensuring safety during operations like work at height and master cleaning.

Qualifications & Requirements

To succeed in this role, candidates should hold a B.Tech in Food Technology or Dairy Technology, or an M.Sc. in Chemistry, coupled with 5-10 years of experience in the FMCG industry. Sound technical knowledge of food operations, food safety, and quality systems is essential. You must demonstrate the ability to work effectively with teams, manage multiple internal and external stakeholders, lead professionals and operators, perform under pressure, and communicate clearly while driving results. Experience with FSSAI compliance, HACCP, AIB, and WRS operations is highly preferred.
