Role Overview

The Associate Director, Clinical Development position in Tokyo, Japan, is a pivotal leadership role within Gilead's Clinical Development Japan team. Key Responsibilities

Scientific Leadership and Expertise

Project Team Leadership

Drive projects as JDT lead, coordinating with cross-functional Japan teams and regularly engaging GDT leads to share strategic insights and local requirements.

Study Design and Execution

Author study concepts, protocol synopses, and full protocols in partnership with Clinical Operations. Ensure scientific consistency across Japanese studies and global programs. Act as Study Director or Medical Monitor, overseeing CRFs, data management, and analysis plans.

Stakeholder Engagement

Build and maintain science-based relationships with Japanese key opinion leaders (KOLs). Evaluate requests for investigator-sponsored trials (ISTs) and grants, aligning them with Gilead's global strategies.

Scientific Communications

Prepare and present data at internal and external meetings, including abstracts, posters, and manuscripts for Japanese scientific forums. Coordinate reviews to ensure GSI approval before publication.

Qualifications & Requirements

To succeed in this role, candidates should hold an MD, PhD, or equivalent advanced degree in life sciences, with extensive experience in clinical development within biopharmaceuticals.
