Role Overview

The Associate Director, End-to-End Commercial Supply Planner, is a pivotal leadership role within Gilead's supply chain organization. Reporting to the End-to-End Commercial Supply Chain Product Lead, this position drives the development and execution of supply plans for commercial small molecule and biologics products. You will partner closely with regional commercial supply chain leads to incorporate demand planning trends, market dynamics, and promotional activities into global strategies. Leveraging advanced tools like SAP ERP and Kinaxis RapidResponse, you will ensure product availability, optimize inventory, and support Gilead's mission in HIV treatments, oncology breakthroughs, and inflammatory disease therapies. This role demands strategic thinking, analytical prowess, and a customer-focused mindset in a fast-paced, matrixed global environment.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborative Demand-Supply Alignment

Act as the primary partner to regional commercial supply chain leads, gaining deep insights into demand planning trends, market access changes, promotional campaigns, and product lifecycle events. Ensure all regional demand signals are accurately integrated into end-to-end supply plans through regular communication, validation sessions, and forecast reconciliations.

Supply Planning & Execution

Develop, maintain, and execute detailed commercial supply plans reflecting the latest demand insights and manufacturing capacities. Utilize SAP ERP and Kinaxis RapidResponse to monitor plans, adapt to changes, and coordinate with internal and external manufacturing sites to align production schedules with commercial priorities.

Inventory & Allocation Management

Collaborate with regional leads to optimize inventory positions, balancing service levels with cost efficiency. Provide expertise in supply allocation during constrained scenarios, drawing on demand trend analyses to make informed decisions.

Cross-Functional Engagement

Partner with Commercial Operations, Quality, Manufacturing, and Finance teams to align supply plans with business objectives. Participate in regional and global Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes, offering supply planning expertise and supporting change management from commercial or regulatory shifts.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

Track key metrics such as supply plan adherence, inventory levels, and service performance. Deliver timely updates, escalations, and insights to leadership and stakeholders to maintain supply-demand alignment.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Qualifications: Doctorate and 5+ years of relevant experience; OR Master’s degree and 8+ years; OR Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of relevant experience in supply chain or related fields.

Preferred Qualifications: Proven experience in supply planning within pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical commercial supply chains, especially for small molecules and biologics. Strong hands-on experience with SAP ERP and Kinaxis RapidResponse or equivalent tools. Deep knowledge of commercial supply chain dynamics. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for fostering regional collaboration. Advanced analytical abilities to interpret demand data and create executable plans. Capability to thrive in a global, matrixed organization with competing priorities, proactive problem-solving, and a customer-centric approach.

The salary range is $165,495 - $214,170 for other US locations and $182,070 - $235,620 for the Bay Area, considering factors like experience, qualifications, and location.
