As an Assortment Planner II, Sales GC in Shanghai, you will be at the heart of Nike's retail strategy for Greater China. This full-time role involves building seasonal SKU-level assortment financial and illustrative plans that align seamlessly with business objectives and targets. You will lead period analyses, including style-level sell-through, to optimize current and future seasons. Reporting to the Manager, GC Sales Assortment Planning, you will partner closely with NSP Retail Merchandising, Sports Planning, Sales Business Planning, and Account Partners. This position demands a blend of analytical prowess, retail acumen, and collaborative influence in a fast-paced matrix environment.
Lead assortment pitch-back sessions to secure alignment between NSP Merchandising and Sales teams, balancing business goals with consumer buzz. Deliver qualified SKU-level assortment plans by door clusters, leveraging APS, selling weeks, and sell-through forecasts. Drive concept Hindsight reviews to summarize highlights, learnings, risks, and opportunities while aligning planning principles across functions. Develop differentiated plans for top doors to meet specific consumer needs and refine style-level color plans based on marketplace strategies, ensuring reconciliation with top-line financial plans.
Conduct comprehensive period analyses, focusing on SKU-level sell-through to inform actions for current and future seasons. Recommend strategic adjustments to cross-functional partners based on real-time sales performance, driving agility and responsiveness in retail operations.
Recap assortment performance, including sell-through rates, color productivity, and SKU efficiency. Provide actionable insights and recommendations to Merchandising, Sales, and Consumer Planning teams for future seasons. Analyze key retail moments to extract learnings that enhance planning precision.
To excel in this role, candidates need proven experience in buying, planning, or assortment planning within apparel, footwear, or sports brands. A comprehensive grasp of retail math is essential, alongside advanced MS Office skills—particularly Excel for spreadsheets, complex formulas, and pivot tables. You must demonstrate strong communication and influencing abilities, thriving in matrix structures with cross-functional partners and senior management. Critical experiences include retail and business acumen, consumer insights, product/marketplace knowledge, and 3+ years in fashion, fast fashion, or sports brands as a plus. The ability to create reports, track promotional calendars, and prep for meetings is key.
