Role Overview

Are you a detail-oriented and motivated individual with experience in light manufacturing or inspection? Assurant is seeking a Material Processor Lead to join our team in Irving, Texas. In this role, you will work closely with supervisors to train and develop team members, monitor production performance, and ensure quality controls are met. This is a critical role in our operations, responsible for maintaining efficient workflow and addressing any issues that arise. This role is based at our Irving, TX location with a schedule of Friday-Sunday from 6am to 6:30pm.

Day in the Life

As a Material Processor Lead, your day will be dynamic and multifaceted. You will begin your day by participating in a stand-up meeting with your supervisor to discuss daily goals and priorities. Throughout the day, you'll monitor production performance, ensuring that your team meets established quality standards. You'll also be responsible for reallocating resources as needed to meet customer goals and collaborating with other departments to maintain proper workflow. You'll serve as a point of contact for your team members, addressing escalation issues and working with engineering to resolve process-related problems. You'll also track attendance, participate in audits, and provide on-the-job training. Your analytical skills will be put to use as you compile and analyze data to create daily reports. Ultimately, your day will be focused on supporting your team, optimizing production, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Working knowledge of shop floor systems (CVision, Oracle, Unit Tracker, Great Plains, Ghost)
  • Participate in daily stand-up meetings with Supervisor
  • Participate in internal and external customer or vendor meetings
  • Work with Supervisor to reallocate resources (people/supplies/products etc.) as needed to meet customer goals
  • Work with other departments as needed to ensure proper workflow is achieved
  • Point of contact for employees for handling escalation issues
  • Work with Engineering to identify and resolve process issues
  • Ability to collaborate with other departments with their area of responsibility
  • Track and maintain daily attendance roster for Emergency Evacuation purposes
  • Participate with the 6S Audit team on monthly 6S audits
  • Work with supervisor to implement any changes or adjustments on production floor as a result from the audits
  • Forklift certified if needed for area of responsibility
  • Perform on-the-job (OJT) refresher training and workstation assessment
  • Monitor inventory levels (WIP Aging) for specific area of responsibility
  • Monitor KPI and SLA performance levels and escalate any issues/concerns to supervisor when needed
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees
  • Must be proficient and certified in the area that they are responsible for leading
  • Compile and analyze data
  • Complete daily reports
  • Train and coach associates as needed
