As the Statutory & Regulatory Reporting Manager at Assurant, you'll be at the heart of our financial operations in the UK. Reporting directly to the UK CFO, this role is pivotal in ensuring the accurate, timely, and high-quality submission of all internal and external financial reports across Assurant's UK legal entities. You'll lead the Group Reporting team, oversee statutory audits, and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including the European and UK CFOs. Your responsibilities will span a wide range of critical functions, from ensuring compliance with UK GAAP and IFRS to managing the relationship with external auditors. You'll also play a key role in capital management and planning, providing technical accounting expertise for new business opportunities. This role demands a strong understanding of insurance and financial services accounting, as well as experience with dimensional accounting software like Hyperion, Oracle, or SAP BPC.
Imagine starting your day by reviewing the latest regulatory updates from the FCA and assessing their potential impact on Assurant's reporting requirements. You then collaborate with your team to ensure that all necessary data is being collected and validated for the upcoming Solvency II Pillar 3 submission. After lunch, you meet with the external auditors to discuss the progress of the statutory audit and address any outstanding queries.
In the afternoon, you prepare a presentation for the Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee, highlighting key financial performance indicators and addressing any concerns raised by the committee members. You conclude your day by reviewing technical accounting papers for a new business opportunity, ensuring that all accounting treatments are in line with UK GAAP and IFRS.
