Department Summary
The Facilities & Maintenance team keeps AutoZone’s Store Support Center running smoothly every day. From ensuring our buildings operate safely to supporting the teams who support our stores, this department plays a vital role in creating a reliable, efficient, and welcoming environment for all AutoZoners.

Role at a Glance
As a Maintenance Technician, you’ll be the go-to expert for keeping our Store Support Center operating at its best. Your day might include performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting electrical or plumbing issues, preparing spaces for events, or responding to work orders that keep our teams productive and safe. You’ll work both independently and alongside a supportive facilities team, ensuring our building and grounds are always ready for whatever the day brings. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, staying active, and making a visible impact.
 

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
•    Deliver exceptional customer service to internal partners across the Support Center
•    Maintain a safe work environment, including proper use of PPE
•    Perform routine and preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment
•    Troubleshoot and repair minor electrical, plumbing, structural, and general maintenance issues
•    Create, manage, and track work orders in the Work Order Management System
•    Prepare building and grounds for seasonal or weather-related needs
•    Set up rooms, furniture, and equipment for meetings and events
•    Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
•    Work occasional evenings and weekends as needed
•    Support special projects and perform additional duties as assigned
 

Qualifications

•    High school diploma or GED
•    1–2 years of maintenance experience or equivalent education
•    Strong skills in electrical, plumbing, and general construction
•    Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently
•    Commitment to safety, quality, and customer service
•    Reliability, professionalism, and a positive attitude

•    Trade or technical school coursework
•    HVAC certifications or experience
•    Additional hands-on maintenance or facilities experience
•    A knack for staying organized and managing multiple tasks with ease

  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on facility systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and plumbing issues
  • Maintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards
  • Respond to emergency repair calls and minimize downtime
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams for major projects
