Description

  • Oversee overall machine planning  and execution  to make sure customer orders are delivered as per the required lead time according to the given promise date while maintaining high utilization of machines & man power within the department.

  • Oversee the execution of propriety orders and giving required directions in planning and prioritization process.

  • Ensure quality systems and the procedures are followed to achieve required quality standards; Analyze root cause  and follow-up corrective actions for failures.

  • Provide required leadership in driving productivity saving projects to ensure better material utilization and drive other productivity savings projects to achieve targeted productivity savings and scrap levels.

  • Take required decisions on material and data related issues by working with others functional heads.

  • Provide required technical guidance & decision making in new development samples making process in order to meet standard lead time and specifications.

  • Provide required leadership in driving TPM in the department and work with the maintenance department to ensure machines are up to standard for continuous production and control spare parts ordering within the AOP.

  • Develop A3 aligns with Operations OGSM and leads the implementation of best practices from other global sites through departmental A3 to bridge the gap with global benchmark level in all OGSM metrics.

  • Work with the HR department in recruiting and training required man power to run the department while marinating targeted UPLH levels and monitor Multi skilling project execution to improve skill levels of the operators and staff within the department and across other departments.

  • Develop performance evaluation targets for all the employees in the department and do timely reviews to provide required guidance to meet their targets.

  • Do the required coordination and provide leadership in all the activities with platform teams and other relevant global project teams. Also visit customers if required. 

  • Provide required leadership in driving all ELS projects in the department and engage in cross functional projects in order to achieve continuous improvement in all the organization.

  • Lead the development of PDCA culture by providing required leadership and active participation to overcome all short and long term problems within the department. 

  • Ensure all health and safety requirements are followed within the department and provide required awareness to the department members

  • Drive all cost controlling projects defined in order to achieve AOP targets including over time within the department.

  • Work together with the country leadership team in developing business strategies, investment plans and country OGSM.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Handle grievances of factory staff

  • Improve/introduce cost saving measures in production

  •  Support HR Dept to organize company extra activities

Qualifications

  • B.Sc  production engineering with at least 12+ years experience in the textile or other related industry of which 3 – 5 years must be in a plant level managerial capacity. A degree in the fields specified and postgraduate qualifications in industrial engineering, business etc would be preferable. 

  • Excellent analytical skill is  a must.

  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to manage a team for results, very good communication skills, computing skills, ability to coach and mentor factory staff, ability to spot strengths and weaknesses in team members and a methodical approach to work are required. Additionally, leadership skills, team building skills, conceptual skills are required.
