Responsibilities:

 

 

  • Lead the Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) team to establish and execute internal compliance controls to ensure adherence to relevant local regulations and Group standards on AML/CTF and sanctions requirements.
  • Act as the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO), reviewing escalated suspicious transactions and reporting them to financial intelligence units when necessary.
  • Serve as the primary trusted advisor for Hong Kong & Macau to the Group on AML and sanctions, supporting key FCC strategic initiatives, and managing day-to-day FCC issues and escalations.
  • Provide compliance advice on AML and sanctions to business units to ensure full compliance with local, Group, and regulatory requirements, both in routine operations and during projects or business initiatives. Finish
  • Monitor the team’s progress in clearing name screening and activity monitoring alerts, and enhance the effectiveness of AML and sanctions controls through analytical insights or process automation.
  • Manage compliance projects and initiatives related to AML and sanctions.
  • Support the enhancement of AML systems, including rule tuning, scenario optimization, and threshold calibration.
  • Review AML/CTF and sanctions policies, procedures, and training materials to ensure they are current and fit for purpose.
  • Develop, manage, and deliver regular and ad hoc financial crime training sessions, including tailored face-to-face training on AML and sanctions risks for higher-risk business teams, senior management, intermediaries, and FCC compliance staff.
  • Prepare management reports and information for regular submission to senior management, Group Compliance, and regulators.
  • Conduct compliance reviews and testing of AML and sanctions procedures to ensure adherence and effective implementation.
  • Oversee Group AML and sanctions reviews, inspections, and regulatory audits.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Qualifications:

 

 

 

 

  • Degree holder, preferably in accounting, finance, law, or business-related fields.
  • Minimum of 8 years’ AML and sanctions compliance experience within financial institutions, preferably in insurance.
  • Good knowledge of regulatory requirements from IA, AMCM, and BMA.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent project management, communication, and presentation skills.
  • A team player, detail-oriented, and a self-starter.
  • Able to work efficiently and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in MS Office, data analytics skills, and experience with data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Excel (e.g PivotTables, Power Query, and Power Pivot) is a plus.
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English and Chinese.
