As the Head of Asia, Reinsurance, your essential responsibilities include managing AXA XL Re’s Asian operations, developing and executing strategic plans aligned with global goals, and ensuring financial growth and profitability. You will represent AXA XL Re in the region, manage exposure, and lead a high-performing team through coaching, talent development, and succession planning. Additionally, you will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and uphold corporate governance standards.

This is a PCF role regulated under the Central Bank of Ireland’s Fitness and Probity regime and Branch Manager role for the legal entity of XL Re Europe regulated under Monetary Authority of Singapore.

What you’ll be DOING

What will your essential responsibilities include?

  • Manage and oversee AXA XL Re’s Asian operations, ensuring operational excellence.
  • Develop strategies and directions, ensuring achievement of the regional business plan in alignment with global strategies.
  • Execute the business plan and budget, monitoring financial performance to ensure growth and profitability targets are met.
  • Underwrite with the team the portfolio using established best practices and rules (guidelines)
  • Support business development initiatives, maintain relationships with clients and brokers, and engage with regulators as needed.
  • Represent AXA XL in the Asian region, establishing the company as the preferred market for clients and brokers.
  • Manage the company’s exposure in the region, balancing risk and opportunity.
  • Set and monitor performance goals for the team, ensuring achievement of KPIs.
  • Develop and coach the team, fostering growth, engagement, and high performance.
  • Lead succession planning and talent pipeline management to ensure sustained leadership and resource adequacy.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, corporate governance, and internal processes.

You will report to Chief Executive Officer, International Reinsurance.
