Manager Chief Accounting and Capital Office

The role of Manager, Chief Accounting and Capital Office is part of AXA XL’s Group Consolidation, Close and Reporting team. The successful candidate will manage the Ceded Reinsurance accounting including the preparation, review and delivery of AXA XL’s ceded results for inclusion in the AXA Group Annual Report, other public filings and analyst materials, as well as internal management reporting. The role will require an ability to navigate a complex organization and work effectively with multiple stakeholders across functions, including FP&A, Actuarial, Tax, Treasury, Finance Operations and others to ensure collective understanding of requirements cultivating and maintaining effective relationships across the Finance organization will be foundational to success. It also comes with critical responsibilities to ensure the timely and accurate adherence to AXA Group financial reporting requirements and execution of key internal controls commensurate with a being part of a large publicly traded company.

What you’ll be DOING

What will your essential responsibilities include?

  • Manage the quarterly accounting close activities for ceded reinsurance from end-to-end. Ensure accurate and timely accounting and reporting of AXA XL’s ceded reinsurance results.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure alignment on ceded reinsurance terms and conditions in contracts.
  • Ensure technical booking is following accounting policy.
  • Work closely with external auditors and internal financial controls teams to provide requested documentation, general ledger balances and assist in the review of the Company’s audited financial statements.
  • Preparing Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet roll up to ensure accuracy
  • Continuous analysis to ensure ledgers are up to date.

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • CA/CPA with relevant years of experience or other accounting designation with relevant years of experience. Big Four public accounting experience is a plus.
  • Robust experience with ledger-based accounting/reporting/consolidation systems (e.g. HFM, SAP Consolidation/Magnitude).
  • Excellent analytical and trouble-shooting skills and ability to analyse and manipulate huge volume of financial and operational data
  • Effective analytical mindset, structured work approach and high levels of attention to detail.

Desired Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight reporting deadlines
  • Ability to work resiliently in a fast-paced multi-cultural environment
  • Good communication & interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding IT skills (MS Excel, MS Access, SQL).
  • Person from (Re) Insurance Industry would be preferred
