Operations Technical Expert (12 Months Contract)

Hong Kong

In this role, you will act as the technical resource for both Middle Office and Underwriting with the focus on continuous improvement. In addition, the Technical Expert would take responsibility for governance of Portfolio Solutions along with the domestic business as well as having in-depth knowledge of pre- and post-bind processes.


What you’ll be DOING

  • What will your essential responsibilities include?
  • Answering questions from Underwriting Assistants, Underwriters, and other colleagues
  • Assessing Underwriting Assistants’ work quality; reviewing reports for trends
  • Continuous updates of process and procedures, Reviewing key business segments such as Domestic business and Portfolio solutions.
  • Providing support for Operations transformational activities. 
  • Ensure that the team follow relevant procedures and are compliant with regulatory requirement
  • Act as effective deputy/alternate for Middle Office Management as may be required

You will report to Operations Lead, Asia.

  • Analytical Thinking - Seeks out and examines applicable data and information to make informed decisions and prioritize work; breaks down problems into simpler and manageable tasks and works to understand the bigger picture.
  • Client Service - Invests time to understand client needs, priorities and goals, delivers high quality service, and raises concerns or issues promptly and seeks out the appropriate resources and actions in their resolution.
  • Negotiating and Persuading - Acts as a liaison between Operations and Underwriting;  asking relevant questions, ensuring checks and balances are in place, and presenting ideas and/or solutions that address the most important challenges or opportunities.
