Senior Analyst – North America Property Pricing

Wrocław, Poland

The Insurance Pricing Team understands the importance of collaboration and displays a continued drive to achieve our goals. The team is focused on managing the Insurance portfolio to ensure continued profitable growth and developing talent to ultimately deliver the best outcomes for AXA XL’s customers.

In this role you will support the Actuary for Americas Large Commercial Property.

You will work closely with North American underwriters, management and senior actuarial colleagues in North America and Europe as part of a global team.

The successful candidate will be highly driven, able to effectively communicate across functions with technical skills to support evolving pricing and analytic needs to drive profitability and growth.

What you’ll be DOING

What will your essential responsibilities include?

  • Support rating algorithm reviews, development, testing, documentation and maintenance.
  • Providing guidance for underwriters in the effective use of pricing models.
  • Individual account pricing - calculating technical premiums and other key metrics and communicating the results to underwriters.
  • Designing and producing management information to assist underwriters and the management team.
  • Developing and maintaining Property pricing dashboards.
  • Ensure efficiency of pricing processes.
  • Assisting Actuarial leads with producing recommendations for the base loss ratio as part of the annual strategic planning exercise.
  • Auditing and, where appropriate, challenging the rate change and profitability metrics being recorded.
  • Assisting actuarial leads with producing underwriting risk recommendations and providing data to assess the effectiveness of outwards reinsurance purchases.

You will report to Actuary.

  • Previous experience of working in an actuarial role. Experience of non-life insurance pricing, preferably Property Lines.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability and willingness to collaborate across teams.
  • Enthusiastic individual who is keen to learn and develop.
  • Experience of coding in R or other statistical programming languages
  • Making good progress through early stages of actuarial exams with the intention to qualify.
