You will join the Italian Property, Energy and Construction Underwriting team interacting with professionals Underwriters and technical experts to grow your potential in AXA XL, gaining insights and professionalism in a vibrant organization that cares about its people and makes inclusion and wellbeing a priority.

Your mission will be to deliver a profitable Underwriting service to clients and contribute to the development of a profitable portfolio in line with the agreed Business Plan. By representing AXA XL Italy on the market you will develop high quality levels of relationships with brokers, clients and colleagues (Claims, Operations and transversal functions).

This is a regulated role under the Central Bank of Ireland’s Fitness and Probity regime.

WHAT you’ll be DOING

What will your essential responsibilities include?

• Underwrite business within the agreed business plan and individual authority: analysing risks and negotiating premiums, terms and conditions, ensuring adequate reinsurance acquired to cover specific risks, monitoring premium income to ensure it remains within set limits
• Support the business planning and forecasting process
• Seek, identify and develop opportunities for profitable business with new and existing customers.
• Develop relationships with stakeholders to ensure that business needs are achieved and personally getting to know and being known by brokers, clients, risk managers and account managers
• Collaborate with the Distribution Team by providing an effective and efficient service.
• Support the design and structure of risks and monitor financial exposure within significant limits
• Maintain awareness of all claims advised while supporting and providing input on settlement of claims
• Use knowledge and expertise to keep policy wordings up to date with legal requirements and market developments.
• Pass all necessary and accurate information on to Operations colleagues for them to ensure the correct release of policies and/or implementation of programs
• Evaluate and improving systems, processes and procedures on an ongoing basis to obtain best efficiency in working methods.

You will report to Team Leader Energy and Construction, Italy.

WHAT you’ll BRING

We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

• Corporate Construction Insurance Industry knowledge and awareness of factors affecting this market, new trends and business transformation 
• Previous experience as Underwriter and knowledge of underwriting processes and procedures (including new digital procedures);
• Ability to work in English and Italian (both written and verbal)
• Business developer, passionate about doing business, negotiating and driving growth in a dynamic market
• Ability to make swift and efficient data-based decisions and keep the focus on goals over time
• Give your contribute while working in team to achieve collective goals.
• Ability to respond to a changing environment with flexibility and innovation
