Job Purpose

• May underwrite medical and non-medical cases greater than PHP 10 million up to PHP 15 million that were rejected by auto-underwriting facility (medical and/or non-medical requirement)

• May underwrite medical cases below PHP 10 million which is medical in nature

• May escalate cases to Level 3 and Level 4 baskets for underwriting opinion

   

   

Critical Accountabilities 

• Appraises and underwrites new business applications, accurately assessing mortality and morbidity risk aligned with company’s guidelines and procedures up to Underwriting Approval Authority of PHP20  Million or its USD equivalent

• Provides guidance to the junior underwriters for complicated or difficult cases, or beyond the junior underwriters’ authority limits

• Participates in cross-functional projects to develop new/enhanced systems, processes, programs to support achievement of company’s objectives

• Interacts with the reinsurers for complex underwriting cases.

• Graduate of Bachelor's degree either in, Social Science/ Sociology, Medical Science, Nursing or its equivalent. 

• 5 years or more of relevant working experience in life insurance underwriting

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to effectively and independently manage work load

• Good in written and verbal communication skills

• A residence near Makati is an advantage
