RESUME AND JOB
CrowdStrike
CrowdStrike is a global leader in cybersecurity, protecting the people, processes, and technologies that drive modern organizations. Since 2011, our mission has remained unwavering: to stop breaches. We've redefined modern security with the world's most advanced AI-native platform, the Falcon platform, which delivers cloud-native protection powered by cutting-edge artificial intelligence and machine learning. Our customers span all industries, relying on CrowdStrike to keep their businesses running, communities safe, and lives moving forward. As a mission-driven company, we foster a remote-first culture that empowers every CrowdStriker with flexibility and autonomy to own their careers.
As a Backend Engineer on the OverWatch Labs (OWL) team (Remote, GBR), you'll build the next-generation infrastructure and security platform for CrowdStrike. OWL powers tools for our OverWatch analysts to process and hunt through trillions of events per day, identifying potentially harmful activity at scale. This role involves developing scalable data infrastructure in a fast-paced, distributed environment using technologies like Go, Python, AWS, Postgres, ElasticSearch, Kafka, and Kubernetes. Thrive in a team that values humility, positivity, hunger for innovation, exhaustive passion, strong work ethic, and adaptability. Join us to contribute to global cybersecurity on a geopolitical scale.
In this critical role, you'll collaborate with OverWatch engineering to build, develop, and maintain operational systems, projects, and tools. Expect to create new components, extend existing systems, and enhance platform efficiency for analyst hunting workflows. You'll bring research projects into production, integrate them with OWL systems, and operate in a full DevOps model—including an on-call rota. Be a self-starter who owns deliverables, drives quality through best practices, and tackles complex challenges. Work remotely across timezones, contribute to open source, and adapt to any task benefiting team success, from data entry to high-level research.
Your work directly empowers threat hunters, scales systems handling trillions of events, and fortifies CrowdStrike's Falcon platform against evolving threats.
We seek engineers with foundational knowledge in algorithms, software engineering, and operational research. Required: Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent), experience with Golang or similar (Python, Rust, C++), building web-services and data pipelines, relational/NoSQL databases (Postgres, Redis, Cassandra, ElasticSearch), messaging/queueing (Kafka a plus), Linux in business-critical environments, and distributed systems in AWS. Excel in fast-paced, test-driven, collaborative settings with strong engineering practices like peer reviews and resilient architecture. Clear communication and broad software stack skills are essential.
Hands-on with large-scale, highly available cloud systems processing massive data volumes.
CrowdStrike offers a remote-first culture with flexibility to balance work and life. Enjoy autonomy in your career, shared team successes, and a supportive environment for growth. Our mission-driven focus provides meaningful impact, while perks include comprehensive health benefits, professional development opportunities, and a collaborative atmosphere emphasizing learning and innovation. Join a company where hard work meets smart strategies in cutting-edge cybersecurity.
At CrowdStrike, career ownership is key. The OWL team invests in your development through hands-on projects, mentorship, and exposure to trillion-scale systems. Advance from building pipelines to leading platform innovations, with paths into senior engineering, architecture, or leadership. Our remote-first model and distributed teams ensure global collaboration, skill-building via open source, and relentless focus on customer success. Stay hungry, learn continuously, and grow with a company redefining cybersecurity.
Be part of stopping breaches with the Falcon platform's AI-native power. Our remote-first culture, passionate team, and global impact set us apart.
