Position Summary
Join Sonoco as a Backup Operator in Montgomeryville, PA, on the 2nd shift (3PM - 11PM). Starting at $21.53/hr, this full-time role is perfect for skilled production professionals ready to step up. As Backup Operator, you'll fill in for the Lead Operator, handling equipment setup, changeovers, troubleshooting, and quality checks. When not leading, you'll support as a Production Associate, inspecting, packaging, and moving products while keeping the workspace pristine. Key Responsibilities
- Perform Lead Operator duties including machine setup, organized changeovers, and shutdowns
- Enforce all safety and quality procedures while utilizing established process settings
- Troubleshoot equipment issues, communicate with maintenance, and direct machine adjustments
- Conduct inspections, measurements, and weekly audits to ensure product conformance
- Operate forklift/pallet jack for product movement and recommend efficiency improvements
- Interface with team members to meet customer deadlines and resolve work problems
Required Qualifications
- Ability to push, pull, lift/carry up to 40lbs frequently and 50lbs occasionally
- Comfortable standing for extended periods in a loud manufacturing environment
- Strong ability to hear, read instructions, and communicate effectively
- Forklift certification preferred; willingness to work extended hours as needed
- Proven reliability in production or packaging roles
