About the OPPORTUNITY

We have an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Officer to join us based in Garden Island, NSW but can be open to Osborne, Adelaide for the right candidate. You will be reporting to the DCE Supply Support Operations Manager.

We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.

As a Procurement Officer you will be responsible for the establishment, placement and management of the appropriate contracting arrangements with capable suppliers to deliver the cost, schedule, quality and safety requirements of the business.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Aid the procurement elements of bids and tenders ensuring robust definition of requirements and commercial terms.
  • Support the supplier evaluation process and support sourcing recommendations on behalf of the business.
  • Support the development of robust supplier sourcing strategies for the business.
  • Proactively manage the performance of suppliers to achieve the requirements of the contract from a schedule, cost and quality perspective, developing and embedding the relevant KPIs.
  • Drive and support process improvement initiatives.
  • Process and manage purchase orders to ensure timely procurement.

About YOU

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field (desirable)
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end procurement or supply chain background.
  • Understanding of inventory management/ warehousing industry would be an advantage.
  • Ability to effectively manage stakeholder expectations and deliver on commitments.
  • Defence security clearance (mandatory)
  • Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations.
