JOB PURPOSE 
BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia.  We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) aircraft and train RSAF and Royal Saudi Naval Force personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is committed to supporting the Saudi Arabian National Agenda including Saudisation and the training and development of Saudi National capability through the growth of the Saudi National Partner Companies thereby reinforcing Industrialisation and Partnerships.

The purpose of this role is to provide leadership, direction and oversight of Workability activity to support both tactical and strategic asset management. This includes ensuring the identification, prioritisation and management of key assets that directly influence aircraft availability KPMs and contribute to sustaining and improving performance levels. Develop and lead the Workability team to ensure robust management and control of assets in the operational environment. Drive the optimisation of asset performance and actively identify solutions, efficiencies and mitigations that reduce asset criticality, improve fleet workability and maintain or increase aircraft availability.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

Lead, develop and manage the Workability Team under the direction of the Salam Support Chain Optimisation Manager, ensuring Workability activity fully supports the RSAF fleet through optimised asset management, reduced criticality and improved aircraft availability. 
Direct the identification, development and implementation of mitigations, solutions and optimisation initiatives that reduce asset criticality and deliver measurable improvements to asset and platform availability. 
Deliver full team leadership responsibilities including workforce planning, resourcing, task prioritisation, performance management, mandatory training compliance and PDR completion, ensuring a high-performing and SQEP team. 
Ensure adherence to local SHE requirements by promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring timely reporting of all hazardous occurrences, incidents and accidents, and maintaining compliance with SHE standards. 
Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders including the RSAF, MODSAP, PC teams and Typhoon core programme personnel, ensuring alignment of Workability priorities, clear communication and coordinated mitigation activity. 
Provide timely and accurate reporting of Workability findings, status updates, achievements and performance indicators to internal and external stakeholders. 
Represent Workability in Taif Operational and Management Reviews, contributing technical insight and data-driven recommendations that support fleet performance. 
Support engineering and Life Cycle Management activities when required, contributing to engineering change definition, capability insertion and promoting Learning from Experience into future contract discussions.

RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION
Essential 
Strong knowledge and experience of aircraft engineering, maintenance and support standards, with the ability to guide technical and operational decision-making. 
Proven experience within a fast jet operational support environment and understanding of the factors influencing fleet availability. 
Comprehensive knowledge of the Typhoon aircraft from both a support and design perspective. 
Previous experience working with the RSAF and/or RAF, with an understanding of their regulatory and operational framework. 
Established working knowledge and networks across BAE Systems Saudi Arabia and the wider UK support enterprise. 
Demonstrable experience in stakeholder management across MODSAP, RSAF and internal interfaces, with the ability to influence decisions and coordinate complex activities.

RECRUITMENT
Essential: 
Demonstrated experience leading and project managing continuous improvement initiatives within an aerospace environment. 
Strong understanding of Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering Standards, combined with experience applying change management practices. 
Proven experience engaging with customers and suppliers to resolve issues and align priorities. 
Experience developing personnel, including coaching and mentoring team members to achieve SQEP status. 
Broad understanding of the engineering life cycle and its influence on sustainment, capability insertion and technical change. 
Knowledge of supply chain and logistics, including awareness of how material flows and repair cycles influence workability and asset criticality

Desirable: 
Knowledge of BAES Saudi Arabia business and the Salam programme.
