Position Summary

The Bakken trend in the Williston Basin is a liquids-rich powerhouse spanning western North Dakota into Canada. ConocoPhillips holds ~790,000 net unconventional acres, focusing on tight-oil development in the basin's most prolific areas. In 2024, net production averaged 115 MBOED with four rigs and one frac crew, drilling 66 wells and bringing 83 online.

As a Bakken Production Engineering Analyst on the Williston & Rockies asset team, you'll report to the Bakken Production Engineering Supervisor. Collaborate with Production Engineers, field operations, well interventions, integrity teams, and IT to develop tools for production surveillance and cost optimization. Be the go-to liaison for analytical solutions enhancing Bakken operations.

What You Will Do

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and govern daily production engineering digital tools for optimization and surveillance in the Williston asset.
  • Schedule and coordinate well intervention activities, track costs, and compile daily reports for asset and support teams.
  • Capture downhole equipment failure trends and artificial lift failure rates to inform decisions.
  • Manage and update field-wide databases ensuring data integrity.
  • Create and maintain PowerBI or Spotfire dashboards leveraging corporate data stores for production surveillance.

Collaboration & Innovation

  • Act as liaison between asset team and functions like Land, Reservoir, and Production Accounting for quality data flow.
  • Respond urgently to ad-hoc requests while proactively identifying workflow improvements and automation opportunities.
  • Design and implement data analytics solutions partnering with IT for asset team use.

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • 3+ years direct experience in the oil & gas industry.

Preferred Qualifications
