Process Overview

We invite you to join the Global Information Security (GIS) team at Bank of America as an Application Security Engineer. In this role, you will utilize the experience you have gained throughout your career to provide hands-on operational deployment and support for a variety of enterprise security tools.

This is an individual contributor role working with various cloud and on-premise technologies.  Security Engineers may interact with and have visibility to members of the GIS senior leadership team as well as key business unit stakeholders.

Job Description

• Work across technologies to create and enhance custom software and scripts to automate technical and business requirements.
• Perform vendor product maintenance and upgrade activities as required.
• Analyze, design, and implement new security solutions and maintain/enhance existing solutions.
• Participate in requirements, design, and architecture review meetings.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a variety of enterprise security tools.
• Create and sustain compliance to security standards in all environments, patching of vulnerabilities and maintaining application currency.
• Support application teams to ensure efficient and impactful use of the security solutions in the CI/CD pipeline.
• Collaborate with our team of recognized information security experts on high visibility security initiatives.

Requirements

Education : B.E. / B. Tech/M.E. /M. Tech/B.Sc./M.Sc./BCA/MCA (prefer IT/CS specialization)

Certifications If Any : NA

Experience Range : 9+ Years

Foundational skills

• Know how to deploy an application in an enterprise environment on to a Windows, Linux or OpenShift environment
• Knowledge of powershell/python scripts to automate tasks
• Create SQL queries to validate data and create ad-hoc reports
• Demonstrated mastery of automation scripting leveraging APIs (PowerShell, python, bash) with ability to bring data in
• 5+ years demonstrated experience using PL SQL for various platforms (SqlServer, Oracle)
• Experience in Linux/Unix system administration.
• Experience with architecting vendor provided software solutions.
• Translate technical requirements into high-level and low-level design solutions.
• Produce high-level and low-level designs using Visio and/or Draw.io.
• Experience with Git-based repository tools for managing configuration-as-code or infrastructure-as-code.

• Desired Skills

• Knowledge in JavaScript with API integration.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins or CircleCI.
• Experience with managing SAST Tools (Checkmarx, Coverity, Fortify)
• Experience with managing DAST Tools (Invicti, Rapid7, AppScan)
• Security certification (CISSP, Security+, various SANS)
