Job Description Summary

As an Account Manager for BD Rowa Retail, you will manage a large and commercially important territory within the UK community pharmacy automation market. Your focus will be on developing strong relationships, identifying opportunities, and driving the adoption of BD’s premium automation solutions. This is a field-based role with extensive travel (typically 3–4 days per week) across the north of England and north Wales - down to Stoke, across the Hull and up to Scottish border. You will work with a high level of autonomy to grow market share in a highly competitive environment while promoting BD’s long-standing and innovative product offering.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and execute a territory strategy to grow sales of BD Rowa automation solutions across community pharmacy customers.
  • Proactively identify leads, manage opportunities, and close deals within a transactional, high-value sales cycle.
  • Build strong relationships with pharmacy owners, senior managers, and decision-makers across independent and group pharmacy settings.
  • Deliver product demonstrations and tailored proposals that address customer needs and business models.
  • Manage all aspects of territory planning, including pipeline management, forecasting, and CRM updates.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support seamless installation, implementation, and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of the competitive landscape and market trends to position BD effectively.
  • Represent BD professionally at customer meetings, industry events, and occasional international training sessions.

About you:

  • Strong understanding of the community pharmacy market is an advantage, whether gained through pharmacy experience or selling into the sector. Candidates without pharmacy exposure must bring solid field-based sales experience and demonstrate the ability to learn the market quickly.
  • Confident communicator with a proactive, can-do attitude and hunger for success.
  • Valid driving license.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn CRM tools such as Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Additional language skills (e.g., Punjabi or Arabic) are an advantage.
