Role Overview

The National Sales Manager for BD Interventional business will drive business growth across Philippines by leading the sales organization to achieve strategic and financial objectives. This role focuses on market development, sales leadership, customer relationship management, and team leadership to expand BD’s presence and relevance in key healthcare areas especially breast cancer intervention, interventional radiology, cardiology, vascular surgery, urology, critical care and other related healthcare specialties.

  • Sales Forecasting and Planning
    • Build and regularly update accurate forecasts for both in-market sales (IMS) and to-market sales (TMS).
    • Validate IMS sales, revenue, and expenses reports to ensure data accuracy and support business decisions.
  • Market Analysis and Competitive Intelligence
    • Foresee, identify, and map potential risks, market trends, and competitor initiatives to enable fast response and agility.
    • Strengthen competitive intelligence and market understanding to inform strategic decisions.
  • Customer Relationship Management
    • Foster strong, long-lasting relationships by partnering with customers and understanding their needs.
    • Map decision makers across key accounts and procurement entities to ensure optimal engagement, timing, and resource allocation.
  • Distributor Management
    • Lead and monitor the business performance of distributors against budget and implement sales strategies for assigned accounts/countries.
    • Develop distributor team members to align with BD’s communication and business development standards, supporting them with hiring, training, and coaching.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams (Supply Chain, Commercial Operations, Regulatory, Clinical & Marketing) to ensure comprehensive support for business objectives.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance
    • Ensure adherence to Ethics, Compliance, Quality, Regulatory, and Legal requirements in all business activities.
  • Performance Management
    • Achieve expected growth targets by successfully managing forecast updates and inventory levels.
  • C-suite Engagement with Strategic Accounts
    • Build and manage relationships with key customers, including C-suite executives, to understand unmet needs and implement BD product solutions that deliver positive outcomes for both patients and healthcare providers.
    • Engage with senior stakeholders to position BD’s value proposition at the highest organizational levels, ensuring alignment with strategic account objectives.
    • Influence and negotiate with decision-makers to support mutually beneficial outcomes and achieve consensus on BD solutions
  • Commercial Excellence
    • Lead sales call planning by applying professional selling skills, including strategic preparation, effective presentation of BD MDS products, and handling objections to gain customer commitment.
    • Manage opportunity pipelines by maintaining accurate CRM records of all accounts, activities, opportunities, risks, and customer contacts, ensuring maximum coverage and efficient time management.
    • Drive results through disciplined sales processes, including conversion management, and adherence to BD policies for count accuracy and expiry management.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 12 years of sales experience in medical devices or pharmaceutical sales, including recent national/regional leadership roles in healthcare.
  • MBA with a graduate degree preferred.
  • Proven people leadership experience and ability to set direction and manage a growing market segment.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Philippine healthcare market, practices, channel, and distributor management.
  • Experience in managing P&L for a business.
  • Strong business acumen, analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and willingness to travel.
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization.
